Greg has been in the banking industry his entire working career of 29 years where he was instrumental in new business development, relationship expansion and retention, and in training and development. He was a commercial lender for over 21 years, working for both community banks and major southeast regional banks. He has been involved in commercial real estate financing, leasing, accounts receivable financing, equipment financing, business acquisitions, and government guaranteed lending. He also managed merchant credit card services and internet banking programs.

Greg was a Life Member of the Optimist Club of Chattanooga for over 20 years, and served as an Honor Club President and Lieutenant Governor in the Tennessee District. He was named Optimist of the Year in 1996.

Greg has served on the boards and executive committees of the Southeastern Tennessee Private Industry Council, the Optimist Club of Chattanooga, Bethel Bible Village, and the Goodwill Industries of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

It just had to get done and we did it!

"The amazing fact is this loan was processed, approved and closed so quickly," said CGS President Gary Griffin. "We all contributed to get this done in time for the Riverbend Festival. The boat is docked on the Tennessee River right in the middle of the Festival site and was a tremendous source of revenue for this venture.” Griffin further stated, “It just had to get done, and we did it!"
